Is a 98+ SS wing taller than a 96-97 SS wing?

I always thought they were the same height and that the only differences were the tail lights and the vertical pieces on the 98+.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, thay are two different spoilers. Go to RK Sports website or Suncoast Creations. You can see several shots of the differences in the 96 SS spoiler vs. 98+ SS spoilers.

i think the 98+ looks taller but it could just be the post things...btw...tail lights on 97's are the same as 98+...but im not sure how that factors in to the spoiler

I've always wondered the same thing, the 98+ looks taller from behind but the legs and brake light make it look way differant, from the top it seems that the 98+ has more height when you look at the curves from a reflection

some1 needs to measure the distance between the rear filler panel and the top of the spoiler and post it here, i have the 97 style i can measue later today and post.

some1 post the 98 style.

Uhh, when I said tail lights, I meant the brake light in the wing. Sorry for the confusion.

If someone could measure the wings that would be cool.

The 98+ has a much more pronounced "lip" to it and is higher in the center. The 96/97 lip is more subtle.

Cool thanks Brent. I scoured your site for like 20 minutes yesterday and couldn't come up with any good pics like that. Looks like about a 1/2 - 3/4" difference in overall height.

Can someone please measure their 98+ SS wing so we have a definitive answer.

My Wings West 98+ SS spoiler measures 8.25" in the center. I assume a stock SS spoiler would be the same.

ASCD has a larger flip than stock... but its a crappy spoiler.. I will replace it for an OEM same I did with the ASCD hood... crap as HELL!

Anyways... The 96-97 looks like a regular spoiler with the added lip from behind
