98 hood fit on 94??

I bought a 94 camaro and apparently the previous owner had taken the hood and hatch off a 98 and put them on my 94, it doesn't seem to fit right... are the dimensions different maybe? I want to have it painted but I don't want to leave those parts on if there's no way to make them fit correctly. They don't fit flush and there's quite a large gap on the hood, doesn't look latched down completely. Is there any way to fix this or should I just look into getting a 93-97 hood and hatch to replace them?

Get 98+ fenders and front bumper or put a 93-97 hood on. It will never line up.

The hatch is the same from 93-02, but the hood is different from 98-02 vs. 93-97. Get a 93-97 hood. That's going to be your best, cheapest, and easiest bet.

thanks, I will try that. Probably will go with trying to find a fender and bumper... there's nothing wrong with the hood or the hatch, they just don't fit and it looks terrible. Thanks!

You realize it's a lot more work to make the 98 hood work vs. just getting the 93-97 hood for it, right?

Read that. It's a guide to the 98-02 front end conversion, which is exactly what you'll be doing. You'll have to get every part listed except for the hood. I'm not trying to be mean or get you NOT to do the conversion if that's what you want to do, I just want to make sure you know what you're getting into.

oh no, that's fine, I want to do it the simplest way possible, and I really don't have a clue as to how to fix it, so any advice is much appreciated. I just thought if it was easier and cheaper to just keep the parts that are on there, then I would do that, but if it will be better to just get a new (used) hood and hatch, then I will just do that instead... all I know is that it looks like crap right now the way it is. Thanks for the link, I will read that and see what all it involves and figure out which way to go.
thanks!

Unfortunately the pictures aren't working on that guide. But definitely the easiest way would be to buy a 93-97 Camaro hood. You only have to buy one part, it takes four bolts to replace it, and can be done in ~an hour.

If you go with the parts to make your current hood work, you need two new front fenders, a new front bumper cover, new headlights, and I believe some brackets to make it all work. You'll need probably a full weekend at least to make the swap and then you'll have to have the whole front end repainted vs. just the hood.
