Well I was searching when I posted the above, seems the cost can vary from about $2500 for parts from GM to $600 front a junkyard.

Also found this http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/memberpage/291340/3

Very encouraging since I saw a 94' witha 98'+ front end on ebay but it looked pretty bad, everything not aligned huge gaps but his looks stock.

Thats the only thing keeping me from doing this. I would be afraid I couldn't get everything centered and lined up right. That, and because I have ground effects and a hood for my LT1 waiting to be put on.

Killer.. Do you have a stock TA? I hope so.. If not, you are a hypocrite. You are very negative on a lot of topics.. Tail lights, body mods.. You must have a plain jane TA that you are so proud to have in perfectly stock condition.. Stock radio. Stock intake. Stock Exhaust. Stock everything right?? Must be real sweet huh??

Be nice. All I see from you is hate.. Your opnions are valuable.. Just too bad the exchange rate from your world to american dollars is about .000001 of yours to 1.0 of ours..

im converting my 97 over too. All I need now is the headlight assemblies and a front bumper fascia. If anyone has anything for sell.......post up on here, let me know.

the only way this conversion wont line up, is if you suck as a body man, the guy ur payin to put it together sucks, or you are buyin aftermarket parts from Taiwan. or ur ****-eyed.

Im doin this conversion cuz the 98+ style just looks wicked. the motor dont make the car. years from now, nobodys gonna give a rats *** what motor is in what or whatever.

whatever floats the boat.

stock sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you have no idea of what you are talking about.Since when do you need a ls1 to put a 98 front end conversion on an earlier model?Tell me sir.The post clearly states "98 front end conversion"Not 98 Ls1 conversion.I don't think you know this, but the 98 V6 Base coupe Camaro does not have an Ls1 powerplant,Although it does have a similiar front end as the ls1 power plant ...So why does it matter if he has an 98 front end?Why not call it a 98 V6 front end?I say do it...

I agree with TA, you need some GO before you starting doing show. And try not to make it look like rice. If theres no performance advantage theres no point IMO but plz unless you put a ls1 in an lt1 car changeing the front is no better then a fake SS or a civic with stickers of things it dosn't have.

Your best bet man is to do a search on this page going over a year back. I did this conversion and listed every part required in several threads, I just don't wanna type them all up. You will need 98+hood hinges, I skipped them thinking they were the same and it put me on hold for over a week. I like fooling people into thinking I have an LS1 myself.....wait, I have an LS1 also...nevermind.

Boy I never get tired of hearing this. Why don't people worry about there own cars. The post is asking about parts required for the swap and someone always has to chime in their opinion as if it actually matters, and let everyone know "I would never do that, its rice". It is getting incredibly old and predictable. After 9 years my car got a little long in the tooth, and sitting next to my 02, I realized that the car DID look like a overbloated Geo Storm. But hey, I like being a ricer, especially with no Z28 emblems, and when I finish the GN Turbo 6 and get it in the car, I'll put "V6 Z28" on my plate and **** everyone off.

Youll need the plastic bumper support, and all the steel brakets for the headlights and fenders. You'll need to drill some holes for the headlight brakets. Be careful when tapping the holes for the lower headlight support. Right behind where you need to drill on the passenger side of the LT1 is the MAIN WIRE HARNESS! My friend drilled through it and I had to splice and sodder about 20 wires. NOT fun.

I may make another thread for this but till then I'll post it here, I've looked at quite a few 98+ conversions now and I don't know if it's just weird camera angles but it sort of looks like the gap from the front edge of the front tire, to the front bumper looks like it's a larger gap then in the rear, and larger then the 97' and 98''s. Sort of looks like those cheap lambo and ferrari kits that have disproportinate spacing from stretching the frame. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Perhaps a picture from exactly center taking a shot of the side of the car?
