98 front end on a 97/97 lights tho

me and my girl are going back and forth about this. we both don't like the 98 bubble lights but like the 98 front end. so i was thinking 98 front end wit 97 ss funtional hood and 97 lights.

also the grill area of the 98 front bumber to be cut out and rounded edges. but double support on the bottom of the bumper so it won't cave in while driving.

any thoughts?

well you aren't going to get a 97 hood on a car that has a 98 nose.. i am pretty sure the lines were just different enough to not fit.

I doubt it would work man, the hood of the LS-1 body style looks like it has a nice curve to it where the headlights are. It's relatively flat on the 97 and earlier style. It also looks like it bows upward in the middle of the hood on the newer front end. Why don't you just get an SS hood for the LS-1 style. It will come out a lot cheaper and look a lot better than what you're talking about doing. Once you get the SS hood, the front of the newer cars look much better.

It won't fit. If the two cars shared the same exact style of fenders it would, in theory, work... but they don't.the best you could possibly do is buy an LT1 front bumper and an LS1 front bumper, cut them in half horizontally and bondo the bottom half of the LS1 bumper to the top half of the LT1 bumper. But unless you do that sort of thing for a living, I doubt it would turn out good at all.

Hmmmm................ just get a 98.

Take out the bubbly bubble lights, and put in your flats.

It's not a stright bot up like everyone else says. It would take a helluva lot of custome work to get it right. Besides, it wouldnt look all that good IMO anyway. It's not an SS hood i know but this was a chop i did up about a 6 months ago.

Good chop; that's the only way I think it could work, but I don't think it looks very good. I prefer the LT1 front bumper over the LS1 anyday.

Heyyyyy.. that car looks familiar! lol. Like Grant shows with his chop of my car, it's do-able but really hard. You'd have to definitely know someone that can do some massive bodywork.

The nose on a 98 is over 1 inch higher at the hood bumpers - ask me how I
know! I just put a 98 front end on my 93 (after an accident) & the stoppers
are lower on the LT1 cars. I need to make extentions. Swapping an LT1 on
a LS1 car would be more difficult, as these would be too tall. Bondo on the
urethane bumper will not look good in a year. I am surprised that the only 4th
gen rebody that I have seen is the Avanti. No one else has stepped forward
to modify the front of our plastic car like the Fiero.
