98-02 SS parts on 97 SS = bad?

I like the body on my 97SS better than the 98+ but I really do like the spoiler and the wheels of the 98+ better.

In your opinion, is there anything ethically wrong with putting later year parts on a 97SS? I'm trying to be conservative with the mods, but thought about those two things for the near future.

Some may say "just do what you want", but I do care about what the camaro community thinks. I'm proud to own a camaro!

Thanks!

Half the guys that put that stuff on their car don't even have an SS. I see no problem with you putting what you like on your car

Thanks for the input...

That was my concern. I had a 96Z before I got the SS and I always wanted to put the SS hood and 17" wheels on it. But at the same time I wanted to avoid the appearance of wanting it to be something it wasn't. Maybe I care too much about what others think.

I finally just got the SS I wanted, but still there are a couple things I would add.

Oh well, I'll take the things I like from both and make the car I want!

I think it sounds like a pretty good idea MYSELF....

check out my Z in the signature (no hood pics posted yet)

I've done pretty much what you are describing with a 96 Z/28 (non-SS) with 96/97 SLP/SS hood & airbox, 98+ SLP/SS rear spoiler, and 10-spokes off of a BRAND new '02 SS with F-1, 17" tires. I did mount 69 vintage Z/28 emblems so I didn't hear any "CLONE" stuff from the purists.

Thanks for the opinions guys. And nice cars!

Btw JETMAN, we talked about air filters a while back in a different thread. You mentioned that Holly 221-5 and had a link. Was wondering if you got that or not and how it works? If not, what are you using now? I wanna get high flow filter without changing my box.

Also, where's the best place to get those wheels and spoiler?

Thanks!

Thanks and I did get the Holly filter and it seemed to fit just fine where the K&N version came out. The pleats were opposite horizontal/vertical from the K&N/Holly but other than that identical. It's done nothing but RAIN around here so I haven't had the Z out much lately.

as far as where I got the wheels and spoilers, etc.. I've gotten both here online. Just BE CAREFULL and talk to the person you are dealing with and get lots of phone numbers adresses etc....
