Any thoughts on certain brands? Kinds to avoid?


anyone have some decent pics of one with a bra?


I just bought a beater Camaro for $2k. Paint is good all over except clear is pealing bad on the nose. I was thinking of just covering it with a bra.

 

Be careful, I had one on a Camaro I had in hs & it caused all the paint to peel off the hood & rust. I learned the hard way that you have to take it off & wash & wax the hood under the bra every few weeks.

 

yeah I have one for my g6, I only put it on for roadtrips, I always washed and detailed the nose before putting it on. I got lazy and car was with wife for a month with it on and I can see some marks it left.


Majority of where this bra is going the paint is trashed anyways. I might go junkyard hunting and see if I get lucky and find a nose piece with same color.

 

for sure... bras ruin paint. I'm in the process of painting my car. I had a bra on it because half of the paint was missing around the front bumper. wound up ruining the hood too. make sure you keep it very clean. I had scraches all over the place from pine needles getting stuck under there.

 

I used a Colgan bra for over 10 yrs. on my old Z. It holds up well, fits pretty good. As long as you keep the underside clean & keep the paint waxed, you'll have no problems. I think a lot of people have a negative view of front end bras b/c they were not cleaned on a regular basis.

I also vote for Colgan, the fit is top notch. I have had one for my 95 Z for about 8 years and only use it on trips and all is good.
