97 z28... Hit a dog this morning... damage..

Going to work this morning and hit a dog... My poor Z... Just got it two weeks ago Anyone got a spare bumper...?
Maybe this is the motivation I need for my 98+ front end conversion, but unfortunately I'm a lil low on cash due to the fact transmission just went out on my truck.

Poor dog? They make dogs everyday, in excess. They don't make these anymore. If the people cared about there dog they'd train it to stay in the yard or keep it pinned up. Otherwise it's just population control. I feel that if you live by a highway and u let your dog play in the road and they get hit and cause damage you should be able to charge the owner for property damage. Carelessness is expensive and costly for both party's that way.

Cars can be repaired. This is still a living being we're talking about. Did you kill it? Stop to see if it was alright at least?

Agree! To me a dog is family. I guess some people may have never had a pet for 12-15 years and then feel the loss.

Its not like this NastyBuzzard went out of his way to hit this dog so all his Buzzard friends could fly down and eat. If you love your animal you keep him safe and where he can't get out. If it was me the car would be the last thing I would be worried about but that's just me.

I was just pissed at the time, yes the dog was fine, and I had to drill small holes in my bumper and ziptie it up to make it drivable. Ive had many pets;dogs, cats, snakes, et cetera, and you know what Ive taken care of them to where i would not allow a situation like that to occur. And yes i tried my damnest to dodge the dog, i swerved into other lane, then it ran to that one, and when i swerved back into the other it ran back into it and i hit it, the dog had the brains of a damn squirrel, especially when it didnt get out of the way because i was in third gear and this z28 aint quite by no means!

I was not trying to say you didn't care about dogs. That was not my intent. I fully understand where you are coming from. However your post about owners should hold some sort of liability or something like that. I don't remember since I cannot see it right now. I am not saying your right or wrong. But what if it was a little kid that ran out in front of you. Happens to me all the time living in a city. Would you think different then. Or should the family of the child be held some what responsible.

he hit a DOG, dude. the dog is fine. His bumper is pretty messed up where he's going to have to spend money on it lol why do we care so much for a possibly stray dog? lmfao get over it, i LOVE dogs, but if he was dumb enough to run in the street, and run into the car, that's Darwin's theory at work. seriously. get over it. How about we get back to the topic at hand...his car.

i laughed so hard when i read this. i also am a dog lover but. like most have said i dont allow them to be in that situation. they are like my children(i have a daughter). i would never let my child out byherself near a busy road with out the proper training first, just like my pets. sucks about your bumper dude. what part of SC are you from? the pick n pulls down here in florida where im stationed right now have tons of front nose clips from camaros.
