i am sure this is nothing new but i am having trouble finding the info i need.

my headlights go up when i put the parking lights on. i want to be able to turn on my parking light and fog lights without my headlights going up.

how is this done. a link or an full description will be fine.

 

I believe it's a sign of problems in your motor. My car does the same thing. I HATE it. This is what they've told me in the past.

Also, when my headlights go down you can hear the gear grinding.

my headlights work fine.

when i turn the parking lights/foglights only on i don't like the fact that my headlights flip up. they are not on but they still flip up. are you saying that is not suppose to happen? because i was under the impression all of the 93-97 firebirds did this.

 

Do you have a Trans Am? What happens when you move the headlight dial to the first setting? I have a formula, with no fogs, and just the parking lights come on. Again, I have no fogs, but I thought the fog lights were on a seperate switch from the headlights?

 

yes i have a trans am. i move the **** to the first setting and the headlights flip up but not on. and my parking lights and my foglights (if they are on) turn on.

i only want the headlights to flip up on the second setting

 

My Trans Am doesn't do that, when I put it on the first setting only the fog lights come on.

 

well **** i am getting screwed some how. wonder why it does this. anyone with an idea?

 

Check the wiring diagram, maybe a wire got crimped or something. All the T/A's I know of never did that either, so I'm not sure what's up with yours.

 

i have a 95 camaro pcm in my car not that i think that would have much if anything to do with it.

 

Mine has done this same thing a few times... I thought it was the accuator but i went to a junk yard and found one swaped it out and it still did it.
So I checked the relays ( in the box under the hood) and put it back in and it works like you want it to.
My motor is also going bad and might be part of the prob aswell.
Try that and see if it works. Good luck

what would i be checking for? they go up and they go down.. other than that what am i checking for. they shouldn't be getting power off the first setting if that was not what it was designed to do.

i have the same problem with my 95 formula. when i turn the park lights on, the headlights pop up but do not come on. i would also like them to stay down when only running the park lights.
