I am considering the LS1 SS spoiler for my 96 ss/

What do you guys think?

 

I say go for it. Dont you need a relay or something for it to work properly?

anyways, I have always prefered the subtle looks of the 96-97 ss over the more aggresive look of the 98+'s. I just like the look of the low-rise because to the un-trained eye, it looks just like the stock spoiler.

 

I agree. Understated good looks, and it's more subtle than the spoiler EVERYONE has on their car. (98+ SS)

 

thats cool i trall;y thought people would say no because it wouldn't be right since it was only on the 98 and up. Anyone know where i can get a good deal on one? i have seen them for $225 plus shipping on ebay

 

Why is the 96-97 SS spoiler so much more $ than the 98+ spoiler? I've always liked the 96-97 SS spoiler but don't want to pay so much $ for it!

 

Whats the diff? The bars in the middle correct?

 

The posts in the middle, the 3rd brake light is LED on the 98+, and the spoiler has a more dramatic rake on the 98+, for a little bit more downforce (also known as drag)

 

uhh I don't think so....unless your talking cheapo aftermarket stuff and not oem

yeah the 96-97 is nice and subtle, but the 98+ SS spoiler is hands down the absolute best spoiler for the vehicle, barring none.

 

outstanding guys, well i will not sell the 96spoiler because i would like to a least have the option of having an extra and i like it but i love the 98 and up more. Did anyone know where i can get a decent deal on one black if any body knows anyone wanting to sell?

yea you're kinda missin the ss hood man.

 

SS spoiler isn't the same as putting on an SS hood. It just really, really looks better. If they made another spoiler that was worth anything then i'd spring on it but to tell you the truth they haven't made a better one since the OEM.

On the other hand people that put on the SS hood just want the SS hood. Lets face it, it isn't the world's most functional design.
