93-97 headlight conversion on ebay

came across this auction this morning:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

just curious if anyone else saw these b4 and knows if these r the same type that brent franker used?
or if brent sees this, if u you could chime in and give you .02 cents

and is it just me, or do those pics with the lights on look yellow like stock bulbs? i know it is a day time pic, but still.....

just curious, cause if these r decent kits, i might be interested in buying one. but not till i get some other opinions

true....

i was just askin cause they didnt specify the brand and they looked similar to brent's when comparing the pics

but i guess that wouldnt justify the price difference....

I would email the guy and ask him the brand name and model number of the lights being used. If he is not willing to give you the actual brand and model then they probably aren't the best. If he gives you the brand and model then post that on here and the lighting experts will give you a thumbs up or down as to how well they will work as headlights

While my PIAA lights are real good and expensive lights, they still give out a fog light pattern which makes them not the "best" for use as headlights. They are acceptable and probably as good as the stockers for headlights but from what I've read, the Hella option over the PIAA is a much better option (and cheaper) when using these as headlights.

But, as for the auction, see if he'll tell you the name and model of the lights and that will allow you to do some research to see how good these will be for headlights.

Instead of getting foglights for replacements, what if you use driving lights. Would that be better than using fog lights since driving lights have a longer light beam?

My opinion is avoid that auction at all costs. Using foglights as driving lights is not safe.

Your best bet is the Hella 90mm conversion. Do a search on "Hella 90mm"

I agree with ya about the Hella lights but I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "unsafe". At least not in the case of my PIAA lights. While they don't give off the superb light like the Hella conversion would, they light up the road as good as the stocker headlights

thanks for the input everyone. i kinda figured it was something to stay away from n e ways.

seems like all conversions r a bit too expensive. at least the good ones that is. i may just go the cheap way and open up my sealed beams, put in some hyperwhite bulbs and call it a day.

If the bulb is tinted at all, make sure the bulbs are 80w or higher. Also, for best results get a heavy duty headlight harness. This will give your bulbs more voltage (steady too).

pu12en12g, I suppose in all fairness, some consider the stocker lights to give off such crappy lighting as to make it unsafe (or unsafeR than it should be!) so in that case, you would be correct

Off subject, you were asking about entertainment centers a few months ago. I finally have pics of mine, you want me to shoot you an email of what I ended up doing?
