93-97 camaro quad lights...anyone try this...w/in

We all know that stock camaros from 93-97 have crappy lights. They aren't bright enough. I was thinking as a cheap alternative to getting higher priced lights to do the following mod. Wondering if anyone has already done this. Take both bright lights out and replace with 2 stock lights...then drive with the lights in the bright light position...and walllah...you now have quad lighting...sorta what the 98 firebirds have......drawback is you wont' have brights anymore...but the lights may be bright enough not to have to worry about it anymore. I'm tired of squinting!!!!!

Let me know if this would melt the dang wires if you drove around all the time like this.

Thanks,
Robert

as a side not..you can then do the fog light bright mod and have all 6 lights running at stock brightness.....i assume this would not be illegal.

actually, in most states, they regulate how many lights you can be running at one time. I would check with local laws before doing this. You would also not be able to pass inspection, since you no longer have high beams.

Ohio doesn't require vehicle inspections. Not too sure about laws about how many lights you could have running....i could live w/out the fog lights on too. Quad lights would be sweet though.......if you note in 98 firebirds have quad stock lights.

i dont think the alternator could keep up with that, but the brights aren't aimed right for use as regular lights. for a great alternative, use 9006 or 9005 in the factory lamp and seal it with rtv, or get the hella's. i have hella's and they are awesome. bright as all hell, and 55 watt light that is legal everywhere, plus, you can replace the bulbs with aftermarket h-3 bulbs

I think even with four lowbeams people would think you have brights on and flash theirs at you all the time. Or a cop will see a great excuse to pull your butt over. I just installed Hella 90mm H9 projectors that are DOT legal for use as headlights. Hella fog or driving lights are SAE approved for use on highways as SUPPLIMENTAL lighting -- not headlights. If a cop doesn't like my 4-round light system (2 lo, 2 hi) I can show him the DOT emblem in the lenses themselves. If a cop can't find a DOT emblem, your ride can get impounded for lack of proper equipment or whatever they call it.

The Hella 90mm projectors are the best lights I've ever seen and I've had Cibie Z-beams and KC Daylighters. The KCs are off-road use only lights and the projectors are darn near as far reaching on bright.

aftermarket lighting is deffinately the way to go, i dont even use my highs any more, the hella's are just fine once you aim them right. the only time i use highs is if someone flashes me, and then i dont even notice because the highs arent as bright as the ff75's.

as for the 90 mm lights, i have heard nothing but good from them either, i just like the squareness of the hella's because it still looks close to the factory size lights. the 90 mm is a round light.
