69 Z28 Emblem on a 94 Z

I want to install the 1969 z28 emblem on my 1994 Z28. I saw it at a camaro show and it looked really really mean. Now here is my question: I know that the 69 emblem has pegs sticking out of the back in order to attach it; however, i am not sure about the normal (current) z28 emblem. I suppose that it is glued on and if so how would I go about getting it off?? 2nd ? , if glued would the glue come off easily in order for me to install the "new" emblem. I know that i can cut the pegs and glue the 69' if i need to; however i don't wanna get the old emblem off and for it to be all nasty underneath. Opinions welcome and Ideas appreciated! Thanks guys, Jason

Im pretty certain that our badges are just 2 way taped on. At least thats what the body shop used whne they put mine back on. I think if you either peal them off slowly, maybe use a hair dryer or heat gun on low setting to warm them it will work fine. Otherwise i've heard using a piece of fishing line from behind the emblem will take them off.

The stock emblems are attached with double sided tape. You can heat them up slightly and pull them off. Yes you can use some fishing line to get under the emblem and "saw" them off. Then get rid of the excess tape with the best tool available, your index finger. Just rub it off. Then you can take the rest off with some adhesive remover, i used bug a tar remover.

Dont glue the new emblems on, just use some double sided emblem tape from 3M. Clean the emblems and mounting surface real well. Lay the emblems on the tape and trim around the edges with the sharpest razor you can find. Oh and put them on straight too.

Drill the holes for the new emblem.
They cost way too much to lose them or let someone 'borrow' them by taping.
My 70-74 emblems are bolted on with the 2 studs. I am not sure about the 69 emblem, but the holes drilled for mine would be covered by stock emblems if I ever went back for some unknown reason. So it's not like you are devaluing your car by drilling.
I have a small write-up on one of the pages at my site.
Good luck

Little too much Jack Daniels for breakfast there bud?

Like I posted above... On the 70-74 emblems, the holes that need drilled fall inside the original emblem's spot. If for some weird reason you ever want to put the originals back on, they will stick on over the holes you drilled. This will cover them up, no filling needed.

I have '69 emblems on my '94 Z28. I kept the pegs and drilled the holes. Not taking any chances on them "leaving". The emblems don't fit flush, thus would be only too easy to remove IMHO. I did the same thing w/ the '70 emblem on the back, replacing the "Z28" next to the bow tie. Hope this helps!
