Question 4 in cowl hood

Anybody that has a 4 in cowl hood on their maro please post a pic of what it looks like from the inside. I was wondering if there was any problem seeing around one or if you can even tell it's there. I am thinking of getting a vfn one but I want to make sure first. Thanks.

I don't think I have any pictures from inside but I do think I have a short video of me driving my car from the driver's seat so let me find that for you.

Re: 4 in cowl hood

Sorry I know the quality is horrible but it was made with a digital camcorder I bought at Best Buy for less than $100. I took the sound out because at the time the gear whine was absolutly horrible. It's just a short clip of me following my brother to a local park.

BTW the hood is the VFN 4" cowl induction hood.

I have a 4" cowl hood but I don't have anyway to load up pictures right now. I might try to get you some tommorow. It's not that bad as far as visibilaty. The only time I ever have any trouble is going up a steep hill.

Projectcamaro: Truth be told I spotted your camaro on I think cardomain and that's what made me want a 4 in. Any way that's not that bad. I figured it might be worse. Thanks for the links and those are some sweet maros.

Cwaldt: thanks for the input. I see how that could pose an issue.

Thanks a lot fellas. Now I'll get one for sure. The misses hates them though. She says there too white trashy. Women.

That's ok, my wife tell's me it looks like a nose.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up my VFN Sunco hood for my '99. I can't wait.

I am EXTREMELY happy with my VFN hood and that's the one I'd get if I was you. If you do let them know ProjectCamaro/Chad sent you. Seriously, I know a lot of the people there personally and it'll only help you out if they know I sent you.

Awesome, I'll remember to do that! Was there much fitting required or was it pretty close to begin with? I work at a bodyshop and cringe when I see aftermarket parts on the repair order.

Man, my wife loves my hood. She says thats what makes it look so intimidating when I get behind her on the road.

Fasteddie, I sent you an email let me know that it went through.

It was a perfect fit, honestly we just bolted it on and it lined up with no problems. I know with most hoods you have to spend a lot of time trying to get everything to line up properly but VFN does a really good job working on theres. Also the build quality is second to none, my body shop guy was telling me how little body work he had to do on it compared to other fiberglass hoods he's done in the past.

For the camcorder? To be honest I don't remember, I really don't use it anymore and would be willing to sell it to you if you'd like. It works perfectly and it's rarely used because not long after that I bought a really expensive one. I'll obviously look into it to give you better details and pictures of it first though.

Yep I got it. I wish all women were like her. I talk to any about my car and they have that duh-duh look on their face. Your hood seems to stick up a little higher that projects. From the pics you sent it might interfere with seeing the tree. It would be close I think. Nice camaro though. I think that's the first white one I ever saw that I liked.

It's also nice to hear that the vfn hood sdon't have a lot of fitting time.

Re: 4 in cowl hood

I'm planning on going to the strip next Thursday, I'll let you know how good I can see the tree. Maybe I'll try for some more pictures.
