30th Anni Camaro...want some more help...(wheels/interior/etc.)

Alright. I'm considered selling my car many times and I'm thinking that it's because I'm not truly happy with how it looks. I love the orange/white scheme but I want more "pizazz". The white leather seats look like GARBAGE right now. I also have gotten extremely tired of the white wheels from the factory. I painted the interior trim pieces which turned out fine but need some white face guages. I dunno, I do not care at all about being fast so I just want to have a clean car that looks sharp. Here are my ideas...

1) 18" Cragar SS or American TT chrome wheels.
2) Re-done white leather seats with houndstooth inserts.
3) White face guages
4) In-Dash DVD player
5) Shaved door handles
6) Shorty antenna

Anyone got any other ideas that might make me like my car more? Maybe lowered an inch? It's just hard to do any major cosmetic changes since it already has the white/orange stripe thing going on.

I don't know exactly what you're going for, but here are some ideas off the top of my head.. Not sure if I'd do some of these though:

-Tinted windows
-Different exhaust tips (Corsa for ex.)
-Painted calipers
-Billet grill
-Wider tires
-Clear/smoke headlight covers
-SS hood

If you want my opinion, here's what I would do with the car if I had it.

- Tint ~20%
- Exhaust or just new tips
- Ditch the white wheels
- Ditch the white interior
- SS hood
- 1" lower or even less
- Chrome ZR1s

That's just my opinion, but I hear where you're coming from with the white wheels.

Well, I currently have true dual Bullets and turndowns. I don't feel like spending more money on the exhaust so it's going to stay as is. Tinted windows is a GREAT idea and I can't believe I even forgot about it. I hate my white wheels but I LOVE my white interior. I get tons of compliments on that part alone.

I really like the LED signals on the side mirrors. Anyone know if they make kits or universal kits I could use on the Camaro?

I already have the Orange CAMARO letters in the back, but this guy just sent me a pic of his tailight blackouts. I really like them on a 30th Anni Z28. http://www.joshanddanielswebsite.com...blackouts1.JPG

Ah I did not realize you have TDs and Turndowns. Keep that setup, no exhaust tips at all works just fine on Camaros . Go to Brent Franker's vinyl page, there are some nice little additions there that would look good on your car. VHT on the tails isn't a bad idea either, makes it look 10x better. I did it to my black car and am very happy with the result.

-SS hood
-SS spoiler
-TT2's: 17x9s up front and 17x11s in the rear
-tint
-paint the calipers orange if you didnt do that already, itll look great on that new chrome
-it might just be the pictures, but it looks like your car could use some shine... 4 coats of zaino maybe?

stereo wise, maybe youd want to consider a stealthbox setup like mine, i love it

I wouldn't mind the SS hood but I am not sure if the vinyl stripes would match up with the stripes on the nose of the front bumper. It'll look good but I might have to wait until last to do the SS hood/spoiler cause of cost. I'll have to buy the parts, pay to get it painted and also buy stripe kit/installation fee. Anywho, these ideas sound great to me...

Re-done white leather seats w/ houndstooth inserts, white face guages, tinted windows, 18" TT2's chrome, shaved door handles, shorty antenna, hugger orange painted calipers w/ white CAMARO letters from Brent, lowered 1", tailight blackouts, possibly clear headlight covers.

I'm calculating things and I think I could probably get all that done for a little over $2600. That is why I'll probably have to wait a while before the SS hood/spoiler. The car has a good bit of miles as well, so i'll have to be prepared money wise for any repairs needed. Thanks for all the help guys. If anyone has any more ideas or opinions on my ideas, please let me know!

Oh, not sure if you meant this by shaved handles, but how about those smoothlocks things?

I would swap in some black interior, preferably out of a Trans Am. I have a Friend that has a white 97 SS with orange 35th ann. stripes. He also has white interior with hounds tooth. He's told me it is impossible to keep the white leather clean. If it was my car personally i would get Ebony Trans Am interior. Then i would get an SS hood, SS spoiler and ditch the orange stripes in place of some Black ones. Then get some 18 inch chrome Rims of your choice.

Someone about a year ago or maybe a bit longer offered side-mirrors with integrated turn signals...much like the Mercedes look. From what I recall, they were pricey. Not sure if they implimented LED or what for the light source.

Consider:
Ultra Z or big block hood (not the one with the stinger, think RK Sport or DGM)
Mecham spoiler or LG 5" lip spoiler
Rims= (anything but Zr-1's or TT2's) in 18 or 19
Kenwood double din DVD (6.5" screen)cd player
LED replacement for all the interior lights
LS1/C5 brake upgrade with painted calipers and braided lines
low tire pressure sensor custom panel with integrated V1 holder
Trans Am door panel swap
shaved doors and antenna

Re: 30th Anni Camaro...want some more help...(wheels/interior/etc.)

If you really want to "refresh" your interior go with some LED's and a DVD player. I went with Blue LED's (while my car is polo green...i plan to have it painted a black metal flake) and for the dvd deck i went with an Alpine CVA-1004 local stereo shop had it on sale for $699.99 so i went ahead and hopped on that. While i don't have the deck installed yet, when i was messing around with the one they have setup on a "deck" wall i figured wtf...i could get some money back from my 7 month old $550 JVC deck. Also get some new rims...always livens up a car in looks.

Maybe consider some orange street glow's as well...if done tastefully can look very good on camaro's. Also, might want to consider just upgrading your gauges to Autometer Cobalt series 2 gauges...they light up very nice and are white faced in the day time.

As for shaving the doors...if you ever run at the track, you will no more. NO track will let you run with shaved door handles.

Dave

**i can post pics of my blue LED interior as well...and should be able to post pics of the DVD screen within the next couple of weeks if the weather stays mild and permits me to drive the beast**

Re: 30th Anni Camaro...want some more help...(wheels/interior/etc.)

this is one of the 4th Gens I would choose if i could do it all over again. if it was my car (and i wish it was coz they look awesome) i would do this

1) 17x11 inch ZR-1 wheels powdercoated white. I know you said you dont liek the white wheels buit i think this is sick looking. if you dont like the ZR-1 anything powder coated white would look great imo.
2) orange calipers (to match the stripes)
3) orange rear "Camaro" insert
4) nice looking exhaust (Corsa is my favourite, then B&B Tri-Flo)
5) SS hood with the orange anniversary stripes put on
6) re-do the seats (absolutely LOVE the white leather)
7) get your in-dash dvd player
8) white faced gauges

I happen to think that car looks great from the factory(w/ either the white or chrome 97-99 5 star wheels, and the SS 97 anniv. even better....Im sure a nice set of wheels and maybe a billet grill for the front will clean things up nicely

Sorry, but there's no way I'm doing that. I know my car isn't 100% stock, but I don't want to ruin a 30th Anniversary edition car by taking off the orange stripes and white seats that come from the factory. I'm definitely keeping the orange stripes and re-doing my seats in white leather. I honestly think putting a SS hood and spoiler on my car will be way too much trouble. I'll have to spend too much for my liking. I'd rather spend it elsewhere for now and maybe when I'm done I could afford a hood and spoiler change.

Somebody mentioned rear orange CAMARO inserts, but I already have them installed. I have my mind set on chrome wheels. I want 18's. What are the exact specifications for the 18 wheels for our cars?

Thats fine if you don't want to do it. The white leather will be a bitch to keep clean. Thats why decided not to do it on my car as i was gonna do black leather seats with white inserts. That was until i was told by others with white leather thats impossible to keep clean. Also your 30th anniversary car won't ever be worth any more than a regular Z so thats not a good reason to keep from modding it. All 97 Camaro's are 30th anniv. cars. The only one that might be worth more because of that is an SS. The SS hood and spoiler will make the biggest diff. in the appearance of your car. This forum is about opinion so that is just mine. Seriously don't keep from going a diff route with your car just because it is an anniv. car. they are nothing special.
