3" cut out
Ok everyone is gonna think i'm an idiot but i keep on seeing people saying 3 inch cut out on their exhaust and i'm not sure what that means??? No cats??? If so what about when you have dual cats???

Ill help you out, even though there is a search button and a different forum this question belongs in (LT1 Tech). Basically all it is is a y-shaped flange that you weld on before the muffler (some people have done it before the cats, which I think sounds like ***), and it has a cap that when open, all it does is bypass the muffler (open cats). Since our cars arent dual exhaust, you only need one if its goin after the cat. There is a spot right before the rear axle that is perfect for one. Thats about as detailed as it gets, but next time try runninga search and if that doesnt help, try to keep your ?'s in the right forum.
Here is an MPG of one on my car. This was my old setup. Stock exhaust with a cutout before the muffler. Don' ask me why it's popping. I've heard numerous explanations. It only did it with the cutout. Some kind of back pressure or something..
