18 x 12 wheels? Anyone.

I believe that the '99 Camaro ZL1 has 18 x 12.5 wheels.

How big a job would it be to flare the rear fenders to have those fit? Any body men out there that could give some insight?

Is it a HUGE job? The pictures of the ZL1 look like the modifications are manageable

Anyone know of another car with the bigger wheels?

Thumbs up

Of all the cars i have seen with wheels in the 12" or 13" widths, they were minitubbed to some degree. I would imagine this is the best result in terms of cost/complexity to achieve that goal. As far as asthetics, the flares look good, but I would choose the tub. I have only seen that done to autocross cars thus far.

18x12? Holy ****ing ****!! I would hate to buy tires if I were you

Sorry I can't offer any advice here, but good luck doing this.

This sounds like an advanced tech post to me. Even though wheels are appearance, something as drastic and radical as that seems like it would fit advanced. Maybe Drag Racing has some guys that have previously done this as well?

I know you're being sarcastic, but the ideal tire for a 12"er would be about a 325 or 335 at the most.

Yeah, I have not even started to look at what those wheels and tires would cost.

I'll take a guess and say $6k for that combination.

Vipers have 12 inch rims and I think thy run on 335's

Arrow

You can easily get a 335 on a 11inch rim

The ZL1 has flared fenders to accomadate the wheels.
