18 inch rim fitment

Gonna be buying rims in the spring when the car comes out of storage. I'm trying to decide on 17's or 18's. I am definitely leaning toward the 17's because of the way cheaper tires. I was also curious, what has to be done to fit 18*9-9.5 rims, what about 18*8-8.5? Do I just need a backspacer for 17*9, and what about 17*8.5?
I know I've got a bunch of questions in there, BTW, the rims I'm looking at are C5 chrome replica's.
Thanks for any help

Definately go with the 18's I can hardly tell a difference between the 16's and 17's ... go with 18's and a 40 series tire, and you can get ride of the ugly wheel gap ! !

18x9.5 should fit just fine, there are several on here that run the C5 wheels with no problems.

C5's will look great ! But remember chrome=HEAVY

I plan on upgarding from the 17x9.5/17x11 combo to 18inch rims. I would like to retain the 315s in the back but the problem is that its hard to find a wheel company that makes a 18x11 inch wheel. Prices for 18 inch tires usually hover avobe the $300 range....I also looked for 315s for 18s and only Pirelli makes that size......the next size up or down is either 295/30/18 or 335/30/18. I think its gonna be a bitch to try and fit 335s in the rear.

Blown makes a good point. I would only consider 18's + if you have a set of track tires mounted on your stock rims. So that way, you can use those at the track. Why would u want to abuse your street tires anyways right ?

I don't hear much talk about this, I assume because most of us don't have a truck to haul the 2nd set of tires etc..etc.. but that really is the way to go.

I went with 18" x 9.5 on all four corners. The correct tire size is 275/35/18 if you want to keep your speedo on check I hvae pics in the sig...

I agree that the 18's will look better, but what offset am I going to need, I'm assuming that it will be the same for 18's or 17's if they are both 9.5 wide right? Am I going to have to change my jounce bumpers?
Thanks for the help
