So, has anyone got any experience with swapping a 110 mph speedo out with a 150 mph unit?

I would like to put a 150 mph in my '94 convertible, but don't know whether it'll work (at all) much less correctly!
Can anyone give me the benefit of their experience on this? Like how-to, & what else may need to be changed to make it function?

Also, is there a legality issue here that I should know about? I live in Missouri, BTW.

i happen to have a 150 speedo cluster f/s if you need one..
the instal of the cluster is a snap,the key is you need to have your PCM modded to raise your high speed limiter.your car most likely came with 2.73 gears and or came with the smaller tires.....oops i saw you have a conv.. that is why you have the speedo you have..it can still be changed.... www.madtuner.com can fix you up with the limiter and some perf.upgrades

 

The only difficulty in swapping it is that the odometer will be wrong unless you swap it from one to the other and you have to basically take the whole dash apart. I did it on my old '94 in a couple hours (mainly due to the fact it was about 100 degrees).

 

I did this swap on a 2001 Camaro, I put in a 155mph speedo from a z28. The only thing I had to do was change the RPM gauge from a 8 cyl to a 6 cyl... after the swap, I have the airbag light on all the time. Why is this, does anyone know?
