i ordered a set of 10 spoke rims and the wheels i have now are 16x8's and the new rims are 17x9's am i gonna have to get my speedo redone for the new wheels? and should they just bolt right on without rubbing against the wheel wells the tire size is 245/45/17?

if you are going from a 245/50 16 size tire, ther should not be any need for speedo fix..

check out this webpage..

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

it'll give you a pretty good idea what size tires you can use without having to get your speedo fixed...

also, i believe that tires, even though the same size numerically(ie 245/45 17) can be a little different in size in real life(ie 25.6 inches tall and maybe 25.9 inches tall..)

alright i figured that all out and its saying at the bottom thats its 1.9% to fast and then it says when your speedo says 60 your actually going 58.9mph but i really see no need to get that changed b/c i drive usually like 5 over the speed limit anyway so that shouldn't be a problem right?

275/40ZR17 has the same diameter as your stock 16's
and that is the best size to run on a 17x9 wheel!

You wont have any issues with rubbing. 315s, yes. 275s, no. The wheels will bolt right up without a problem.

what kind of rubbing are you talking about? There is the one where if the tires is too wide or my kind of rubbing where every time i hit a bump my tire would rub on the wheel well. If you have my problem SLP sells a bracket that lowers the bump stop so the axle doesnt travel so much. I think slp requires them on 17" rims.
