1 T-TOP CONVERSION question, need help ASAP

Ok, I ordered my kit from Speed Automotive the other day, and I am installing my t-tops this weekend, I just need to know one thing. I have printed off 2 "books" from where other guys have done this, and I have wanted and researched this for about a year now, but I finally splurged and bought the kit. Now, what I need to know is, I have a Dremel to cut the roof off, and a Swazall for the side supports, but what did you guys use when cutting and fabing up the corners? Any certain cut-off wheel with the Dremel? Thanks for the help!

Ah, gotcha. Thans. I was wondering, "How the H#LL am I going to get a sawzall through there??" When I was looking at the corner pictures, I thought I could use a Dremelr or something like it, just wanted to make sure it would be strong enough. Oh, and a BFH is neccessary for all jobs. I can't wait to cut that roof off this weekend.

T Top Conversion

It's all about VICE GRIPS! They helped so much. Get a regular size and a smaller pair if you don't already have some. They do everything from hold sections in place to bending and prying. They were a big help. Also used a big fat masonry chizzle. Combined with a small sledge hammer the chizzle was great for banging pieces down into place and getting nice straight grooves/ channels, etc. Anymore questions, feel free to ask. Good Luck! John.

I wanted to do a ttop conversion either over the winter or in the spring...I was told that I should rent a plasma cutter. Would a dremel work as good? lol, like most people, I'm worried about screwing something up. BTW, where did you guys buy the parts for the ttops?

www.SpeedAutomotive.com $400+ Shipping. I have a nice set of vice gripes I can use. I need to go buy some good primer and my car color now, white, so it shouldn't be to easy. My car is what, but the piece that you don't cut on the roof, right behind the groove and stuff, is black, think I should paint the exposed metal black or white. White would look like a factory job, b/c thats the way they came.

A plasma cutter would be a sure way to spray sparks and molten steel all over your glass and interior... stick with the sawzall.
