*Gauging interest in new mod......
Hello everyone. I am about to change out the interior of my car. I have a 1994 Z28, and I am swapping in the interior of a 97 Z28. I think the newer style interior looks alot smoother and nicer. Anyways, While I have been gathering peices to do my conversion, I have looked EVERYWHERE for a website with information where someone else has done this before, and I couldn't find ANYTHING. Now, I was thinking I could write up a page, take alot of pics, and host them somewhere for everyone to view, as I am sure there would be alot of people interested in this. What do you think?

I'll definitly do it. I have read a few posts with people asking questions about this (mostly 3rd gen people) so I think at least ONE person would find it useful. I know I would sure appreciate it if I could find a page like that. :P By the way, did they delete all the old posts with the new board style? I can't find anything when I search anymore....

I think it is a great idea! One question that gets asked often but I don't recall seeing an answer is if you can take a 97 instrument cluster and plug it into a 94 to 96 wiring harness. I seem to recall that you CAN but I can't remember if that was a dream or somebody actually did it. LOL!
Either way, if you'd like to do the write-up and take pictures and stuff I'd be happy to host the info on my site and, of course, stick up a link for you!

Hey guys. Thanks for all the replys. I am positive that it is possible, no question about that. Anything can be done when hot rodding. I saw a C4 interior in an old shoebox in a Super Chevy mag once! The hard part I believe, will come down to seeing if the gauge cluster will work, and if not, trying to get all the wiring done right. I just purchased my dash today, along with the big top piece (w/the defrost vent) and the a/c vents, and the radio bezel piece. Now I have to wait 2 more weeks so I can purchase the gauge cluster from speedautomotive. I purchased EVERYTHING on ebay. If anyone else is interested, SpeedAutomotive is selling a dash, along with a new set of airbags and the a/c vents and radio bezel now. Search for "Camaro dash" and you will see it. Anyways, I got away cheap nso far, $180 for everythign I have. I'm going to look into pulling out my dash tomorrow, so things will go more quickly and smoothly (hopefully!!) when I am ready to change it all out. You guys have inspired me to definitly take ALOT of pics and write some things up on it!! Wish me luck. I think I am going waste a full tank of gas running to the hardware store for screws and misc. things when its all said and done.

By the way Brent, I LOVE LOVE LVOE your website. Lots of good info, I looked at it to get an idea of what to do before I mounted my trans. cooler. Kepp those good fix-its and how-tos coming! The yellow looks great too!

That's what has kept me from buying the 200mph gauges for the 96-97 birds. I don't kow that the wiring would let everything work......I know dimensionally they are a little different....but that could be fixed. If the wiring is right and everything works let us know, that would be some very valuable info.
