WTB: Cheap laptop or PC
WTB: Cheap laptop or PC
I need a cheap laptop preferably or a PC if you don't have a laptop.
My cousin has five girls and they need a computer to do their homework on. So basically something that can run Office and XP would be great.
I have all the software so that doesn't need to be included.

i have a Panisonic Toughbook model CF-37.. its in mint condition it just needs a new hard drive. it work just like a brand new Laptop before the HD went.. i have the power cord to go with it and i did upload windows XP on it before it stopped working. i priced out a new hard drive and the cheapest i found was 150.. it has the internet hookup on the side. internal modem.its about 1 1/2 inches thick.. will sell for 80 bux shipped.. i take pay pal if you want it.. i can e-mail pics if you want to.. i was going to keep it and get a new HD but due to the holidays i want my son and daughter to have some nice gifts..
I have a pentium III, 1Ghz machine for sale. Has a 1 month old Maxator 100GB IDE hard drive, 256mb RAM will run XP and microsoft word easily. Here is a picture of what it looks like, this is not the actual computer, mine is in a little better shape. No monitor. I am selling because it was a backup machine, but i never use it.
Free Advice-
just for the record, laptops do not last as long as desktops! If you don't need it portable, then get a desktop---hard drives fail in laptops usually within a few years, just like texasrebel's case--granted they are getting better at dispersing the heat, but really if it's mostly just going to sit on a desk, get a desktop machine. Having worked in Tech support, we get laptops with failed hard drives in weekly and some are only a few months old
50+shipping.
I can throw in a brand new lite-on slim keyboard (smaller--they are nice) and an optical mouse with it for 5$more. Let me know at camaroman1203@yahoo.com

what are the specs on that Panasonic laptop? I'm not sure that will run XP all that well. I believe those are usually 500mhz and 128mb ram with 10GB hard drives originally, maybe I'm thinking of a different model who knows.
i'll be honest with ya i know more about cars than computers... i have no clue about the specs but i do know it ran windows xp perfectly..i think it has 160 mb of ram. does that sound right?
