World Products Motown Intake manifold

Has anybody ever used or thought about using this intake for a single plane conversion?

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...1937&langId=-1

I'm curious because it has external runner bosses which could possibly make installation of fuel injectors easier. Plus, they claim 30 more HP than similar manifolds. Any thoughts?

One thing you need to keep in mind on manifolds like this and their claims is the fact they are tested using fuel and air in the mix whereas the majority of us pushing nothing but air. So their 30hp claim has to be kept in perspective.

I understand that any manufacturers claim of additional HP needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

The main reason for my question is because most everybody I know of that has done a single plane LT1 conversion is using a Super Vic and I just wanted to see if anybdy ever used or thought about using one of these.

It says right in their description that it comes with external runner bosses that facitilitate the installation of nitrous oxide fogger nozzles or fuel injectors. So I thought that if it worked better than, or at least as well as, a Super Vic it might be worth the extra $75 to save a little time and possibly some money during the conversion.

The thing is, it's still a 23* manifold going on a 23* head so injector placement is roughly going to be the same. I've talked to major head porters and they have all pretty much said there is no concrete data that suggest injector placement having a bonafied effect so I think choice is going to come down more to having something fit than anything else. Just because the manifold comes with nice little bumps to make placement easier doesn't mean it's going to give that extra umph over the manifold that doesn't have the raised bumps

I'd want to measure one and see how it compares.... the extra material is fine if there is enough to do what's needed if not it's just more crap that's in the way.
