I'd say you are in a good neighborhood right now -
did you have any specific questions?

You beat me too it. I was thinking that when I saw the topic.

We need, application, HP, max RPM, Blower/Turbo/N2O

That kind of stuff.

bret i had told you a while back about what i was doing....here's a brief rundown. still need to measure for the exact so i can't say for sure.

it's a 383 setup pushing at least 500/500 at the crank N/A as well as three power adders looking for an even 600 across the board.

just wondering where i can read up on different ones........i know that even once i know the exact size i need there will be many brands to choose from and other little things so i'd like to have some knowledge going in!

thanks for the replys guys!

Well up to 700hp I would say Eagle H-Beams. $500 a set they will hold alot of abuse.

Then if you want more rod than that, a www.Cat-Pep.com Billet I-Beam for $780 a set sounds good to me.

I think Hot Rod has a article either this month or last month on Rods, Cranks and Pistons and that should give you the basics.

Other than that....... It's mostly mechanical engineering stuff. Books by David Vizzard, he has a Small Block Chevy Book on Cranks, Rods and Pistons that would help too.
