Vortec heads and CC305

Is this a good combo to put together. The Vortecs are very similar to LT1 heads as they are similars castings but flow a lil more on the intake side and of course are for standard SBC's heads.

Re: Vortec heads and CC305

this for a street car or race car? or a little of both?

I would say if its a street car,it wouldnt be a bad combo,I'm just not sure how much cam the Vortec heads like.

If its for a race car,not a very good combo.

With a good valve job and the heads cut to use larger springs for up too .550 lift the heads should do really well and can easily flow close to 260cfm.. Im sure 350+ RWHP is attainable with these heads properly prepped.

Re: Vortec heads and CC305

Most definately.

I read a article is GMHTP,and read a few other places as well, that with a hopped up set of Vortec heads (not even ported or anything) and a mild cam,400 HP isnt hard to achieve at all. I would imagine that the motor in my IROC now is close to 400 if I put on a good 650 or 750 carb on it. But it runs really well with the 600 now,so thats why its still on there.
