Velocity Ring
Velocity Ring
How effective are these when used on a centrifugal supercharger? Typically, how much more boost can be gained, if any? Any opinions or theory of opperation on velocity rings would be appreciated.

Re: Velocity Ring
We learned in fluid mechanics that the radius helps intake and out flow to a certain extent. If the radius is too long, the helping effect is lost and could hurt flow.
If the thing is actually engineered for the purpose of a supercharger intake, then it should make a few pounds of boost.

Re: Velocity Ring
FYI:
I picked up 4 HP at the wheels by installing a K&N stub stack on my carburetor.
The stub stack is designed to reduce turbulent currents as air enters
the carburetor. It seems the velocity ring may serve a similar purpose.
I'm thinking that device is installed on the mouth of the supercharger tube
inlet?
