Don't know if this belongs here, but I tried it in LS1 tech with no luck. The synchro and cone for 1-2 were replaced in April along with 1st gear. It hasn't shifted the same since. Under normal conditions, the car will shift, but not as smooth as it used to. Used to be able to just tug the shifter, and it almost did the rest. Now you have to really pull to get it into 2nd gear. Doesn't grind like before, but it seems like it doesn't hit the gate right or something. The big problem is that if you break traction, it will NEVER shift from 1st into 2nd until you let it rev back down to about 2,000 RPM's. If you take off slowly, don't break traction, you can bring the car to up to redline and it will shift from 1st to 2nd. I took it to the dealer and told them it doesn't shift as smooth, etc. Their tranny guy drives it (the one who fixed it the first time) and says there isn't anything wrong with it. Complained to the service manager, he drove it, said the same thing. My friend has an identical car and it is a night and day difference in how smooth the shifts are. I even offered the dealer the chance to drive them both, but they won't do it. How do I relay this to a dealer? Can't really tell them that when I peel out, it won't shift to 2nd. Any advice?
