Timing marks & a Dual sync distributor on an LT1

I need some ideas for timing marks on my car,

I have a 355 T-Trim with the Gen 7-Dual sync distributor with an LT1,

Now TDC on the LT1 is about 2 o'clock, how I go about setting up the timing when the blower is mounted there, there is no way to see it.

Can I clock the balancer 180 out and set the timing marks there or on the passenger side of the car? I think I need a better place for it.

Thanks
-Jeremy

If ya are running the stock balancer with a blower driving off of it ya are looking for problems. There is no key.
If ya have a key in the crank and hub ya can't go 180* without two key slots in the hub. Then your timing marks would be off and ya couldn't set the timing.

No,unless ATI has a balancer marked for the other side.
Ya could possibly do it by timing off of #6 but the mark would be under the car and ya would have to make a stable pointer of some kind. The easiest but most time consuming would be to remark the balancer and modify the timing tab to fit on the other side.

The ATI balancer has timing marks all around it, so could I not just put the timing tab/marks on the passenger side of the block, this will give me perfect view of the balancer/timing marks, I will just have to pick and mark a spot as 0 and then put a timing tab there?? With the eng at true TDC

Will this work or am I all over the place here,

There has to be people out there that have had this problem

Yea that will work ya will just have to find true TDC before ya mark it and remember what number is which. Thats what I mentioned in my other post is to remark it.

TDC with a dial indicator, can do it two ways, put black tape on the balancer, make a white mark on it , homemade pointer and use an advancable timing light(****) or the same thing with timing tape over the balancer with the new "0" under the homemade pointer.

I think that is what i will do , is make the timing mark on the P/S of the block and get a timing tab and fab it up to fit there
