Post Strange 12 Bolt problem, maybe

I've had my Strange 12 bolt in for about 3 months, and probably a total of 250 miles, on the way home from our club meeting, I heard something hit the floorboard of the car, then on decel, I hear a medium/high pitched whur/whine, but only on decel, on accel, all is normal no sound, no odd pulling from one side to the other, or any other anomalies. I took the diff cover off today, finding small, very small pieces of metal, and one decent size one (about the size of a dime and shaped kinda like a T) (I
can get picks of it if anyone thinks it helpful), but nothing out of the ordinary gear/pinion/spider/diff wise.

Does anyone know what the crush sleeve is made out of, is it actually a crush sleeve, or is it a solid piece?

Does anyone have any idea's what it could be? Or anyone have any idea's of what I should inspect, or look for?

Thanks for the help,

Rob

No, definitely not a c-clip, I think this rearend is c-clipless (if not.. then they completely disintergrated, because there are none visible). I'm just wondering if the pinion nut hasn't backed off, I'm gonna check the torque on that right now.

Rob we had simular issues here with a Strange. Turned out to be the US gear Posi. The peices you found are probably the clutch to diff case parts. The ones In Jims car did the same and it started eating into the case making the on off throttle snap harder and harder.

Get it looked at soon.

Good luck!

Hmm.. Something to think about.. I wonder if the Eaton will have the same problem, as I'm not sure that they have clutches, if it does, I can't see them, just spiders, and springs... But I'll take it over to my gear guy on Monday anyway... Thanks for the heads up.
