Sheetmetal valve covers that clear alternator.

This question has been asked a few times by people looking for a sheetmetal valve covers that would be low enought to clear the alternator? Most of the sheetmetal cover available are tall and need to be modified to clear the alternator.

Well, I seen a set of sheetmetal valve covers over the weekend that per the owner of them, said would clear the alternator on a LT1 engine. The guy told me they where some off the best sheetmetal valve covers he had ever used! They came with billet-rails to insure for a positive seal in the event you are using a vacuum pump and one really smart feature they have as option valve spring oilers that are gun drilled into the rails. If your unfamiliar with what the purpose of the oiler serves it will directly spray oil to the spring and rocker. This helps to prolong the life of the valve spring and insure the rocker assembly stays lubed. And the best thing about the low design covers will have enought clearance for a person to run either pedalstal, shaft rockers or stud girdle. The valve covers come either center bolt or rail bolt fasting.

The guy said he purchased the Pro Series and prices started at $299.00 on up. They where purchased from Billet Fabrication by Jeff Johnson

I also read something in another thread about swapping to the smaller alternator use on the trucks to eliminate the need for clearancing.....

I'll try to find the thread but yeah, Jeff builds some really top notch stuff.

If you get cutom sheetmetal valvecovers, always get the spring oiler option with them. You will not regret it. This cools down your rockers and springs, adding life to them. It also allows you to pick up some power by installing oil restictors into the lifter valley, decreasing oil that drains onto the crankshaft creating windage.

I got them on my valve covers, but they are made of magnesium, and I love them.
