Is this safe compression for boost?

Basicly my heads were ported & milled .010, after porting & milling they were CC'd & came out to 54cc, with the combination of Fel-Pro 1074 gaskets .039 thickness I calculated my compression ratio to be 10.9:1 is is .49 higher then stock. I'm thinking of running boost about 6 pounds hopefully, do you guys think I'll be ok?

I figured this, even ATI 8lb blowers say they are for 93-97 Camaros/Firebirds, now I know the LT4's came with 10.8:1 stock, do they mean 8lbs intercooled will be fine with LT4's aswell then?

Also, what cam do you guys recommend? Reason being is I'm looking at the XE 224/236 .502/.520 lift w/1.5 rockers on 114lsa, I'll be running 1.6 rockers, should I go higher on the lift & LSA?

And will an intercooler help prevent detonation?

here is my head flow numbers:

LIFT...... INT......EXH
.100......74...... 69
.200......127......121
.300......191......152
.400......254......183
.500......283......192
.600......287......201

why not open the chambers more?I bet they would go 60cc..

Well the heads are on & I really don't have the convinience of a house to this is for the hundredth time I dunno what do you think as is right now? Your heads are still sitting here Jordon, maybe one day I'll think of something for them

IMO, adding forced induction on such a high compression is going
to limit the use of the supercharged. It will only get a small percentage
of it's potnential.

At some point throughout the RPM band when volumetric efficiency
is near and above 90%, I think you're going to run into some
nasty pre-ignition.

An intercooler will most certainly reduce the chance of detonation.
Running a little fatter on fuel will also help reduce detonating.

What sort of ignition do you have and spark plug heat range?
Plug temperature is going to play a huge role in performance
under boost.

With some tweaks in spark timing retard, plug temperature and
proper fuel ratio, you could probably get away with 6 PSI.

I'm not an expert, but I understand the variables involved. Without
flow numbers for the entire assembly, it's tough to determine
how much cylinder pressure you're going to end up with and
how safe 6 PSI will be.

hey, spend $300 for a water injection kit, and you'll be just fine. PLus you get nice clean chambers and exhuast.

Hmm... I'm using NGK TR6's & LS1 ignition coil per cylinder conversion so my ignition is very very strong

i believe menlatin wants you to use a water injection kit to reduce combustion chamber temps... thus reducing detonation.

can I get a link to this water injection stuff? I belive its called ADI right? Anti detonation injection, same thing small engine aircraft with Turbos use, didn't know we had kits like that avaliable for us

bunker, you might want to talk to rskrause. he's got water or alky injection (or used to).
