questions on valve seats/valve sizing

I've been searching the last couple days and have not found an answer so someone please help me. From what I have read about installing larger valves in a stock head I would want to have the seats machined as large as possible without having to replace them. People have installed 2.02/1.60 with stock valve seats. My question is with the stock valve seats machined as large as possible and still keeping its strength can I use my 2.08 intake valves? I know people say 2.02 is the largest you want to go on stock seats but will it hurt anything if I run my 2.08? I just don't want to spend the extra $160 if it's not going to hurt anything
