Purpose of 2 bar map sensor?

i bought one acouple months ago thinking that i had to have one after talking to a few guys online. i have a 94 z28- stock cam. i have boltons- s-trim blower and head work. Madz28 said my stock map sensor is fine for only pushing 8psi. computer wasn't setup for the 2 bar of course so the car wouldn't run. but what is the reason to use a 2 bar map? noone seems to want to buy mine and i only used it for one day...

Re: Purpose of 2 bar map sensor?

You have to scale your tables and tune accordingly for it, but basically it allows you to run a boost sensitive retard via the ECM tables.
