I have a 91rs and have a 400 pontiac engine, TH350 and posi trac rear end out of a '67 LeMans. I'd like to keep my 700r4. Has any body done this? Where can I get headers? Any suggestions? The motor is a small block 400, and was already bolted to the TH350. My main concern is headers, if someone has been down this road, I'd like to talk.

 

You'll have a hard time fitting it in there. People have put BBC's in those cars though, so see what they've done to get them to fit. You'll have to get custom headers done after it's in the car...I'd be willing to bet no one has a set made. You'll have to get a BOP bellhousing for your 700R4, since it won't bolt up to the Pontiac block. You're going to run into alot of problems with this, but it could be a fun (and frustrating) progect.

 

There are adapter plates out there to fit almost any trans to any engine, you will also have to figure out what to do about the engine mounts, and it is a big engine as you've noticed.
