Oil Pump Drive gear

Do LT-1's use an Oil pump drive gear, and if so what aftermarket version is reccomended for a HV Melling pump?

Yep they do.... you don't need a aftermarket one unless your cam is not compatable with it.... and all the Comp Billet cams have a everwear gear that's compatable with the stock gear.

Re: Oil Pump Drive gear

Stock gear is strong. All it's needed for is driving the oil pump. Onyl suggestion I've got is to use a ARP oil pump drive shaft.

Re: Oil Pump Drive gear

Since my oil pump drive had some miles on it, I replaced it with a new one from GM when I had the 383 built with the different cam. I also run the Meling HV oil pump and an ARP drive shaft.
