need help with roller rockers/misfires

just put on crane gold 1.6s (self align) today along with headers and new plugs (no wires are crossed). I adjusted the pushrods as follows: finding zero lash first and when the intake was almost closed, i adjusted the exhaust about 1 extra turn. when the exhaust began to open, i adjusted the intake. I did this for every cylinder. I started the car up today after assembly and was getting constant misfires. Questions: Is this the best way to adjust these? Is it possible for misadjustments to cause misfires? Is it possible that i didnt preload the lifters enough, or didnt allow enough time for them to prime (i only let the car run for about 30-45 seconds after seeing flashing ses light). Is there a problem running these in obdII cars w/o computer tuning? thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

General engine troubleshooting should be posted in a general technical forum. I see you did post this where it should be in LT1 Tech so i will close this.

Thank you.
