Need Help!!!
This isnt the most advanced question and it doesnt have to do with the f-body, but i know most of you guys here know alittle bit about what yall are talking about so i need some help. Im working on a 85 chevy s-10 with a 2.8 liter v6 carbed. It needs a new intake gasket because one, there is water all on top of the intake, and two there is water in the oil. The problem i am having is when i took off the air filter housing there was a lot of water sitting at the bottom of the housing like it was being blown up through the carburetor. So i need to know what that is for sure. I think it is a bad head gasket and water is going into the combustion chamber and being compressed up through the intake and out the carb. if someone would please let me know for sure what this might be please help, and if you need more info, i will tell ya what i know.
thanks,
aaron

Those 2.8 engines are notorious for blowing the intake manifold gasket (back by the #5 cyl, if I remember right). The water in the air cleaner probably came in through the the breather tube from the valve cover. Replace the intake gaskets and clean up the mess and it should be fine.

Depending on the condition of your motor, you might even want to consider swapping it out for the new GM 3.4HT crate motor or a 3.4 Camaro motor from the wrecking yard.
