SBC lifters are .842

If you are going racing then the lifters are .875 usually on flat tappet engines.

well I bid on some solid roller Crower's on ebay and I'm not exactly sure if they'll fit my LT1 block. First off, they use a cross bar for alignment... and supposedly my block has been machined to be able to use this type of lifters... so they should work if the bore size is right.

This was a solid roller motor before I bought it and i'm fairly sure the previous owner used similar lifters. I'm just not sure on the diameter...

The lifters i'm bidding on are similar to these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33614

Those are .874, won't work with your OEM block. You need the .842 lifters.

Also, these are roller lifters so they aren't from a "WC" car. Even if they were, the definitely wouldn't be in service over an "entire season". I'm not a big Nascar fan but I know enough to know they break a lot of cams and a new set of lifters would be the logical choice..... race to race.

The misinformation here would be enough to keep me away from this seller, but that's just me. I can see the roundy-round gurus chomping at the bit on this one.

Mindgame hit that one on the head.

Stay away from those. Used parts in any high output engine are only cheap the first time you buy them. Once they break stuff more can go bad.
