LS7 lifters in a L98?

There is a long thread in the LT1 section about the new GMPP Cadillac racing hydraulic roller lifters (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=501293). It seems like these lifter are really priceworthy (at least if you are revving above 7000rpm´s) and these lifters appearantly work in a Gen-1 sbc like my L98. The story is that I´m doing a major rebuild including AFR 210 Eliminators, 3.75 stroke, Bret Bauer cam, S-trim blower etc etc. I´ve also got the comp cams OEM style HR lifters but have yet to order the pushrods.

In the thread above it is mentioned that these lifters are really not necessary if you limit the rpms to 7000 and the LS7 HR lifters is plenty good (and only $100). Since I won´t exceed 6500rpms I wonder if there are any gains by switching from my stock style HR lifters to these LS7 HR lifters. Maybe someone tried these LS7 lifters in a gen1 SBC already? Pros/cons?

Thanks
Goran

I cant speak for personal experience, only what I have managed to dig up. Recently I bought a C5 and I plan on putting another engine in it. When I researched lifters, since my LS1 has the typical 'clicking' from running a cam, I found that there are in fact a couple parts that are interchangable with gen 1's and 2's. One of them is the roller lifters. Supposedly, they are better than stock for use with cams and quieter to boot.

GMPP also has LS1 style roller lifter retainers for small blocks. 2 required, 12 bucks a piece. That's how I'm doing my next HR engine. The lifters are $100 and change for the set.
