Thumbs up Intake Manifold Short Side Radius

I'm changing out my Edelbrock TPI manifold to a First TPI intake manifold. Reason being the runner port entry to the heads is much better with a SSR and being able to have a larger CSA.

There is no SSR on the Edelbrock. Just a angle where the head meets the intake manifold. So is there is a magical SSR I should shoot for? Maybe just make it as big as the intake will allow?

2nd question involves the injector boss/shrouds on the roof of the runner. Should I just grind them off? With the First intake the injector bottom is right at the roof line or even a tad higher.

3rd question. I'm using a Felpro 1205 intake gasket and the heads are port matched to it. I was thinking of matching the intake manifold the same except maybe .015" less all the way around to account for the slop tolerance of placing the manifold on the head. Any thougths? The CSA would still be more than needed. Thanks Guys.

SSR = Short Side Radius which is the floor of a intake port....

What you are asking is about the radius that you put on the entry into your intake manifold runner correct?

Lot of science in that question then.... normally a 1/2" radius will do for you.
