Loosen the rockers all the way off when ya pressurize it so if it rolls the motor over the valves are still closed and listen. Rather pull both heads than tear one down.
We'll know soon. I may be buying a small air compressor tomorrow to work with.
Re: Intake Manifold Gasket Failures
Well, after running around like a chicken with my head cut off for two days looking for a leakdown kit (nobody carries them anymore) and a small compressor that would be of use, with no luck.......
I've officially given up. I'm in the process of pulling the motor out of the top of the car right now, I'm really only waiting for my happy hooker to come in. I'm taking the motor to a local shop for a look over, and IF if can be fixed and given a clean bill of health, I'm going to sell the entire longblock (sans rockers and guideplates). If the shortblock is fubarred, I'm going to try to part the motor out as best I can.
Thanks for all of the help everyone. My next motor is going to be thrashed and tuned on an engine dyno so it's just a matter of installing it and having fun for me.
