Info on Unknown Cam

Info on Unknown Cam

Here is all the info I have for it

Duration Advertised: 286* Intake/307* Exhaust
Duration @.050: 230* Intake 245* Exhaust
Lift with 1.5:1 rocker arms .565 Intake/.600 Exhaust
LSA:114

Has the long dowel pin for 95-97 lt1s

Its a comp, custom ground, if any of you board member recognize the specs of the cam and have any info, ie whos grind it is or if its just an off one.

Any input of what the cam would sould like or how aggressive, any videos of similar cams, etc.

That is a strange cam... I've never seen one with a .050 duration split that far. It's a lot of intake lift for a short duration too.

Have you tried calling or e-mailing Comp?

Maybe he mis-typed...230/245 might be what he meant...

Nice cars you have listed! Why does the bottom car say $600? Is that the price? PM me with details.

Should be a fairly aggressive sound with a pretty big lope at idle. It should sound close to a GM847 or a CC306. It does have really high lift. Make sure and get some quality matched springs and check for piston/valve contact.

CC306 is very similar as posted above..it's 230/244 and used to be very popular..Do a search on that maybe.

Looks like an attempt at a nitrous cam judging by the split and LSA. Not saying it would be a good cam, just that it looks like someone applied some "conventional wisdom" to come up with some odd specs.

cam specs...

Thats almost the same split as a GTP7 Cam http://gtp-racing.com/
which has int ex
236 250
.350" .372"
.560" .595"
I have a GTP 6 cam with a bit less split.
The gm 847 has a 234/242

One more question, does anyone run the GTP7 Cam and if so what hp/tq gains would I bee looking to expect as I plan to drop this in my 95 6speed. Also since Im asking what should I use when I r&r the cam/lifters/etc

Lifters-ls style?
Rocker Arms-?
RR ratio-1.5/1.52/1.6?
