I can't get the input gear out of the trans.

I took out the sun gear and dropped the output shaft, but cannot get the input gear or the rest to come out. It is like it is stuck in there. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The sun gear is the input gear... what gear are you talking about? The sun gear is the little gear that is in the middle of the planetary carrier (the one with 4 little gears) Are you talking about a 700r4? If you've already got the output shaft out you must have gotten the snap ring off, What does your sun gear look like? Is it all chewed up?

I am sorry it is the reaction gear. I got the shaft out and pulled the planetary out but cannot get the next one to come out. It is a 700r.

There is a large retaining ring holding the reaction carrier in the case, there is also a small retaining spring at approx. the 5-6 o'clock position (you can't get it out until you remove the reaction carrier). You need remove the large retaining ring. install the output shaft again, grab the output shaft from inside the case and pull the reaction carrier out. it might have alittle resistance because your still fighting the retainer spring.

Hope it helps
