Jim- your setup sounds great, and i agree with MindGames "list".

I never had a single SR valvetrain failure.

Re: How long should a solid roller live on the street?

what are the opinions as to what part idle speed plays in longevity? im a lope junkie [time it with a flashlight ] but some dude said once that a low idle will contribute to accelerated wear as the rollers arent getting that much oil so SR idle RPM shouldnt be under 1000.
I figure if youve got decent oil pressure at 650 or 1200, whats the difference?

but to be fair the 1 street SR ive done and all my buddies SR setups, they dont get alot of street miles, and are torn down frequently anyway for upgrades/ maint.

Most are lubed by oil slung from the crank. RPM should have a role in it.

Ya, but ya worked on a couple of mine who did fail. Again, I may have the worst luck in the world but no matter what I did I still had problems with solid lifters.

Now this is one that I've pondered quite often... even with "enough" spring for the job?

That's about 4 years of driving, or more. No problem.
I totally agree. I have had two lifter failures and one rocker bearing go...
