how good are ported iron eagle heads?

Im running a set of Dart iron eagle heads I bought from performance chevy. They do a "stage 1" port on their heads when you buy them. I paid about 250$ for what they said was a "stage 2 C-N-C port". Also had them milled to 58 cc's and they have perfect intake runners and huge exhuast ports as well.....Looked to be a bad set of heads....got screw in studs and guides and .600 lift valvesprings..... How well do these heads perform?? I have them mated to a converted LT1 intake and HOT4 cam with 1.6 rr ........How well would these worked darts be compared to other aftermarket heads??? Would they flow as well as LT1 or LS1 heads???? Any feed back will be appreciated!!!

250 dollars sounds pretty cheap for any quality port work.
The only real way to evaluate those heads would be to flow them on a flow bench and see how efficiently they flow. Dyno testing could give you some idea also.

I think all in all I have about 1100$ in them..... Just wondering how good of a head they are for the $$$$$...... could have went with a set of trick flows for what I have in these..... Just would have had to upgrade their valvesprings. These Dart heads lookes sweet when they were bolted on!!!! Ports looked real nice and completely perfect with the gaskets.....The exhaust ports have D- ports and you could look in and tell they worked the area around the valve's considerabley.... opened up the area over the valve and swirl polished them pretty.....Wish I had a digital cam to take some pics before engine was assembeled......All in all though, how much power can be gained from these heads......Still have my 91 vette aluminum head motor ready to be rebuilt!!!!! Would I have came out better sticking with the aluminum L98's and working them or going the route with the Dart iron eagle's???? JMO....I like the top end of the Darts better, but I also have the HOT 4 cam now, compared to stock L98 cam in other motor..... Gonna go 383 stroker with my L98 when my current motor goes.... Just wondering which heads would be best???

How about a link to those heads from the people that sold them to you.

Then we might find a little more info.

It really just depends on the airflow of the heads. If you got custom port work and no Flow sheet I would seriously doubt the ability of the shop that prepared the heads. Without a flowbench there is no way they can know whether they are helping or hurting your heads. There are lots of so called head shops out there who will gasket match and grind some ports and do some really pretty work that looks good but can sometimes even hurt the heads.
