Here is a doozy!!
new motor/blower/basically everything under the hood. 1994 M6, stock PCM (tuned) with an injector driver(accelertronics). First time car fired and ran for 15min, np. next time it ran for ~15min and then died (no spark). next time 3min, died no spark (each one of these starts occured ~12hours appart). now after a day or 2 of sitting, it will fire for 30sec, then die (again, no spark) and i have to wait another day or 2.
I have checked the grounds, and even added another ground to the coil mount.
I have tried swapping out the following:
opti
PCM
ign module
coil
disconnected MSD
Basically, I am down to a wireing issue..
No codes, no security light, etc
http://www.fastblackcar.com/misc/joe...w/DSCF0225.AVI
however, in that vid it almost looks like there is a security light on, but i think it may just be from starting(i pulled the camera away pretty fast)- you can see its not on when I crank it the 2nd time.
has never come on before/after that vid tho that I have seen (later when it started I watched it like a hawk)
ANYBODY!?!??!?!

Yeah jesus, that thing is loud.
Maybe something VATS related (doesn't seem like it but could be worth investigating)
Chances that both opti's took a poo? (probably not likely)
I couldn't really get a good look at your voltmeter...but since you said no check gauges light is coming on, I assume your alternator and battery are fine?

Re: Here is a doozy!!
i lose SPARK. not fuel.
hence, I am sensing something in the ignition system, the PCM is seeing the ref signal from the opti (telling the injectors to fire)

Ok.........now I just want some more info on what you have done.
When you replaced every ignition part did you replace them one at time?
Did you have a scanner or any kind of data logger and if so were you logging while cranking and when the car was running?
The reason why I ask about the scanner is that you said that pcm is getting a signal from the opti and wanted to know how you know that. If there is no signal going to the pcm the car will still start, but the pcm is just guessing when to fire. So in your situation it kind of sounds like it.

Re: Here is a doozy!!
I would say the opti is NOT the problem if you are certain there are no DTCs when the motor stalls. If the opti lost the high or low resolution signals to the PCM then youd think there would be code 16 or 36 stored in the PCM. So then the only culprit left would have to be the coil/ICM. It would help if there were ways to test the 2 with a multimeter before and after the problem occurs... there very well may be but I dont know of any. I guess you could try testing the harness plugs going to the ICM to see if it still getting power but then again I think there is a DTC fo that too.
When you say no spark.. Are you checking at the plugs or from the coil?

no spark at the plugs or the coil. I have replaced teh ICM, and the coil.
I am guessing the PCM is seeing the opti signal because there are no opti codes, and also i can see(via logging) that the PCM is calling a reasomable duty cycle for the injectors.
