When putting the engine back in from the bottom, i routed the harness that has the pass o2 wires, hot for starter, a ground to the block(by knock sensor) and maybe a few other wires, in such a way that it would not reach to the connectors on the pass side. Is it aright if i just use a larger gauge wire to splice extensions for these wires. I think it was a 10 or 12 gauge wire that i used to make the extensions. I just used wire connectors and crimpers and then used electrical tape to cover them, do you think that because of the sensativity of some of the wires, i should go back and solder the connections together and heat shirnk them? For some reason i just feel that the crimped wires and electrical tape will not allow a good engouh connection after some time.

Now that the shielding has been broken, you'll have to keep an eye on the
conductors. In time, the exposed wires may get contaminated due to moisture, elements, etc.
I was always told to seal the connections with a shrink wrap and gel to make
the connections air tight.
