Good Fuel Pressure Setting for SBC???

Ok, here's another question, I'm sure it archived, but eveyone says different things on this subject. I'm running a Holley Black pump, to a 750 Double Pumper (soon to be a 825 Mighty Demon) what is an adequate fuel pressure to run at?? I've been told 6 psi, but the majority of people say 8-10.5??? I'm running between 8-9. Just wondering, what do you guys run and how much of a difference has the increase/decrease made for you??

I run 9psi to my 750 holley through a holley blue pump. I have heard 4.5-12 psi, but I tried all and felt that 9psi was the best for me. I don't think you will find one setting that is right for all carbs.

6-8 is general for carb setting 9 is high, but so long as you dont overpressurize the needle seat, you should be fine, if you overpressurize the seat you'll flood her out and that'll suck.

Re: Good Fuel Pressure Setting for SBC???

Thanks for the in-put. I'm switching over to a Mighty Demon 825 later this week. I think I'll run about 8-9 seems to suffice. This car was a 5 day build for spring, and it actually turned out a lot better than I hoped it would. It actually has some potential, on the street the car out-ran my buddies '86 S-10 with a 406 in it. He's ran 11.20 constintant at the track, and I got him by 2 1/2 cars on street tires!! I'm waiting to get the sub-frame connected before I go lauch it with stickys at the track, busted t-top glass in the face is really no fun trust me!!!
