figureing out how much flow my heads have

I have aluminuim heads from a 96LT1, I had them ported and polished.
I am wanting to know how to figure out how much flow and hp my heads will be able to produce. So that i can select a cam for the motor

Since they are ported they'll flow lots. Take them to a place that has a flow bench.Total airflow is in Bowlingreen Ohio,I do not know where Greenville is. Be sure to get a big cam. Probably 50$ to flow one.

Go to the person who ported them and ask for flow figures from .050 lift to at least .600 valve lift. If he can't supply them, by all means have an independent shop flow them, as streetbad suggested.

Just because they were "ported" doesn't mean they will flow lots.

Personally I'd talk with Lloyd Elliott (www.eportworks.com), and ask him if he'd flow them (for a price), then discuss the results with you. If they aren't what you want/need, ask him to quote his price to "fix" them. Lloyd can also fix you up with a cam that will work with your heads. IMO, you'd be farther ahead than choosing your own cam, and WAY ahead of just guessing without flowing the heads.

Unfortunately based upon prior experiences, it’s almost always better to have heads independently flowed.

Lloyd is the exception to this. He’ll shoot ya straight and if they are good, he’ll tell ya and if not, he probably can fix them for something very reasonable.
