External oil cooler for LT1- line size

I think I have found a decent mounting location for my B&M Super Cooler here .

My question is about the size of feed/return lines. The cooler has 1/2 NPT fitings, and my cooler adapter has -10 AN fitings. I can run a -10 hose OK, but I also want to add a temp sensor (possibly 2) at the cooler. Aeroquip makes a -8 inline fitting adapter that is perfect for what I want to do, but they do not make this for a -10 line. Will it be a problem if I run -8 hose? It looks like it will be about 7-8 feet one way to the cooler.

The specs are -8 is 7/16" ID, and -10 is 9/16" ID. Most oil cooler kits I've seen for sale use 1/2" ID hose.

I've run a front mount cooler on a rear engine Chevy using -10 hose due to the length involved (12+') and it seems to work well. I used -8 when I added the Supercooler to my SSEi Bonneville (welded fittings on the factory lines & bypassed the radiator "cooler") with no adverse affect, but it was a very short length (2-3').

That looks very much like the cooler I'm getting ready to install. I was going to mount mine on the driver's side of the radiator however, with the inlet and outlet lines pointing to the driver's side of the radiator. I'll then route them through the big opening near the top left by removing the condenser.

I'd use -10 lines. You will have some pressure drop with lines that long and through the cooler. The least you can do is try to lessen that drop by running larger lines.

Typically I see people using the low oil level sensor hole in the pan to adapt a temperature sensor fitting. I just wish someone made a ready to fit plug for the gauges out there.
